If you’ve found this code in a public place… you have come across a piece of our weather monitoring equipment (camera, weather station, lightning detection) that is either in use by one of our clients, a municipality, a province, or owned by KSMI Weather directly. You can find these anywhere from public spaces, to rooftops, and even the side of the road. The hardware you have found is transmitting real-time weather data to our weather operations centre. In some cases, this equipment may be governed by certain legal protections. It is important to not touch the device you have found. If you have questions about the device you have found, you can contact us, or contact the property holder or government body that owns the land or property in question.

If you’ve found this barcode in your office, place of work, server room, equipment room, rooftop, or plugged in somewhere… you have come across one of our internal networked devices that either displays data on a display in your office, or is collecting data from other data sources (such as camera networks or other connected devices). You may have this device on site if you have a display that shows weather data, or if your company or municipality has shared internal camera access with us. If you are unsure, please contact us.
